The body in the light
«When I have seen my first concert at the age of 12 years, I have been blinded. Then I have decided to become a photographer, to perpetuate these enchanting moments of the artists on the stage. »
Marlene Kuhn-Osius exposed 31 photographs of seven ballet ensembles.
19 photos are in the large size (100×70 and 80×120) and 12 in the middle format (40×60).
“Even with few movements the body can express so many different feelings and emotions. And these emotions are given to the audience. All this I try to catch.”
With all pleasure the photographer likes to shows the power of the free dance, without greasepaint, without a word.
“If the artists are concentrated in their passion, this is the true scene without mask, in the light. I also think of all sacrifices which they make to everyday in life to live these moments on the stage. With my photos I would like continuing the applause which they receive of the audience and for which they live for.”
